Asgard Unveils THOR: The First DDR5 CUDIMM Reaching 9600 MT/s
Asgard has announced its latest innovation in memory technology with the release of THOR DDR5 CUDIMM memory, pushing performance boundaries to an impressive 9600 MT/s. This breakthrough makes it the fastest DDR5 memory kit currently available.
THOR DDR5 CUDIMM: A New Standard in Speed and Stability
The THOR DDR5-9600 MT/s CL44 memory surpasses its predecessor, which peaked at 9200 MT/s. Designed with CUDIMM (Clocked Unbuffered Dual In-Line Memory Module) technology, this memory kit enhances signal integrity with the help of a CKD (Clock Driver), allowing for superior stability and higher frequency performance.
By using a CKD to regenerate the clock signal, THOR’s DDR5 memory effectively reduces signal transmission bottlenecks between the CPU and DRAM, ensuring smoother operation and faster speeds. According to Asgard (via @9550pro), this results in the RAM running at 4800 MT/s, which equates to a doubled effective speed of 9600 MT/s in Intel's 2:1 clock ratio mode.
Competitive Edge in Performance
At CL44, Asgard’s DDR5-9600 MT/s memory is comparable to 6400 MT/s DDR5 with CL30 latency, delivering wider bandwidth and significant performance improvements. Designed for the latest AMD and Intel platforms, this memory kit supports even higher clock speeds than its predecessors, running in Gear 2 mode during testing, though specifics on the CPU and motherboard weren’t disclosed.
The momentum in DDR5 CUDIMM development continues to accelerate. Just last week, v-color made headlines by announcing the world’s first DDR5 CUDIMM RGB memory, which hits speeds up to 9200 MT/s on next-gen chipset boards. These rapid advancements in DDR5 technology highlight the growing potential for real breakthroughs in memory performance, as companies like Asgard and v-color push the boundaries further and further.
Asgard’s upcoming releases promise even faster performance, with plans to launch a 10,000 MT/s memory kit soon. Combined with platforms like the ASRock Z890 Taichi, which supports up to 9200 MT/s, DDR5 DRAM technology is set for a significant leap forward.
Aesthetic Design and Efficient Performance
Available in Polar Night Black and Lightning Silver, THOR DDR5 memory modules feature sleek, low-profile heat spreaders designed for optimal thermal management. With support for Intel XMP, users can easily unlock the memory’s full potential at just 1.5V.
Built with third-generation JEDEC-compliant chips, Asgard ensures that the THOR DDR5 CUDIMM modules provide reliability and compatibility across a range of new platforms.
