ASUS Launches First B850 Series BTF Motherboard With 600W GPU Slot: Meet the TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi W
ASUS is pushing boundaries in next-gen motherboard design with the official unveiling of the TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi W, a sleek, all-white 800-series motherboard equipped with BTF (Back-To-the-Future) architecture and a high-powered 600W GPU slot, capable of supporting future monsters like the GeForce RTX 5090.
Reinventing Clean Builds: A Connector-Free Front Aesthetic
ASUS’s new BTF design eliminates visible cabling by placing all connectors on the back of the motherboard. This includes ATX power, EPS, fan headers, and SATA ports. The front, meanwhile, is a stunning showcase for components only, helping users achieve the cleanest PC builds yet. The BTF ecosystem initially made waves on Intel’s Z890 platform, but now it finally lands on AMD’s 800 series—albeit with a B850 chipset instead of the expected X870/X870E.
Game-Changer: 600W High-Power GPU Slot
Front and center—literally—is the 12V-2x6 High-Power GPU slot, capable of delivering up to 600 watts directly to a graphics card. This revolutionary feature eliminates the need for traditional GPU power cables, but there’s a caveat: it only supports ASUS’s BTF graphics cards, such as the RTX 4090 BTF, and potentially, the yet-unannounced RTX 5090 BTF.
Power delivery for this slot is managed by a hidden 12V-2x6 connector located at the back of the motherboard, discreetly feeding energy to the front-facing PCIe slot.

Availability and Outlook
While pricing and global release dates are yet to be disclosed, expect the TUF Gaming B850-BTF WiFi W to hit shelves soon, especially with the arrival of Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs already in motion. ASUS’s BTF initiative is finally gaining traction, and this motherboard shows how design innovation is meeting real-world power requirements in an era of power-hungry GPUs.
It’s still unclear when we’ll see the X870/X870E BTF boards, but if ASUS follows its current cadence, a launch could follow within weeks.
