Colorful Launches CVN X870 ARK Frozen V14 Motherboard With 17 Power Phases, White Design & Ryzen 9000 Support

Colorful has officially launched its first enthusiast-grade X870 chipset motherboard for AMD Ryzen platforms—the CVN X870 ARK Frozen V14. This marks a strategic expansion of Colorful’s motherboard portfolio, bringing a high-performance and visually distinctive white-themed solution for gamers, content creators, and PC builders leveraging AMD’s latest Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors.

The CVN X870 ARK Frozen V14 introduces a robust 17-phase power delivery system, ensuring optimal power efficiency and thermal performance for demanding workloads and overclocking scenarios. The VRMs are actively cooled, underlining the board’s readiness for next-generation Ryzen chips based on the Zen 5 architecture.

Visually, the board embraces a striking all-white aesthetic, including heatsinks and PCB elements, catering to users seeking clean and thematic custom PC builds. Functional enhancements also define this launch, most notably the inclusion of the proprietary CVN Pull-Out Switch, a convenient mechanism that enables effortless GPU removal—a particularly welcome feature in tight, high-end chassis.

Connectivity and I/O are in line with enthusiast expectations for the X870 platform. Users will benefit from PCIe Gen 5.0 support for both the GPU and NVMe M.2 slots, DDR5 memory compatibility, and a full suite of high-speed ports. These include USB 4, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5GbE LAN, and multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports. The board also supports up to 128GB DDR5 memory at high frequencies, enabling top-tier performance in gaming, streaming, and production workflows.

As Colorful enters the X870 chipset space with the ARK Frozen V14, it underscores the brand’s commitment to the high-performance PC segment. While the company has maintained a relatively modest presence in the AMD motherboard arena—previously offering a limited range of B850 chipset models—this new flagship-level product signals a renewed focus on premium design and enthusiast features.

Although pricing and global availability have yet to be announced, the CVN X870 ARK Frozen V14 is expected to be a competitive choice among AMD-focused builders looking for cutting-edge features, thermal headroom, and striking aesthetics.
