Complete RT Shader 1.6 Promises 3x Faster Performance with Massive Upgrades

Graphics modder NiceGuy has released version 1.6 of the popular Complete RT ReShade shader, delivering significant performance and quality improvements. The update introduces enhancements to Global Illumination, upscaling features, and specular reflections, making it a game-changer for players looking to boost visuals without sacrificing performance.

Performance Gains

One of the standout features of Complete RT 1.6 is its improved performance. Running Global Illumination (GI) at native resolution now takes just 4ms compared to 13.5ms in version 1.5. This translates to a massive frame rate boost, as demonstrated in benchmarks:

  • Complete RT 1.6: 71 FPS

  • Complete RT 1.5: 49 FPS

This upgrade offers up to 3x faster performance, depending on the game and scene.

Enhanced Features

The new update also introduces several advanced features that push the shader’s capabilities further:

  • Dynamic GI Resolution: Supports floating-point scales from 33% to 100%, dynamically adjusting to match rendering resolution when using upscalers like NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, or Unreal Engine TSR.

  • Improved ReSTIR GI Implementation: Upgrades in both quality and performance, with accuracy now nearing ground truth imagery.

  • Refined Specular Reflections: Fixed flickering issues and enhanced reflection precision, especially for low roughness values.

eLITE RT: A New Shader for Low-End Hardware

In addition to Complete RT 1.6, NiceGuy announced a new shader called eLITE RT, designed for low-end PCs and handheld devices. Unlike Complete RT, which prioritizes high quality with strong performance, eLITE RT flips the focus to emphasize performance while maintaining reasonable quality.

Subscription Details

Both shaders are currently available exclusively to NiceGuy’s Patreon subscribers:

  • Complete RT: Available at the second tier ($6/month).

  • eLITE RT: Currently in beta, accessible at the third tier ($11.50/month) for early testing and feedback. Once finalized, it will move to the same tier as Complete RT.

What are your thoughts on Complete RT 1.6 and the new eLITE RT shader? Do you think these mods are worth the subscription? Let us know in the comments!
