Dino Crisis 1 and 2 Are Now Available on PC via GOG Complete With Several Enhancements

The first two Dino Crisis titles—originally developed by CAPCOM—have made a surprise comeback on PC through GOG.com, providing an opportunity for veterans and newcomers to rediscover these dinosaur-themed survival horror classics in an upgraded form. Priced at $9.99 each, the games are also available as a Dino Crisis Bundle at $16.99, representing a notable saving over separate purchases.

Both Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on GOG deliver a range of enhancements aimed at modernizing the experience. These updates include:

  • Full compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11

  • Support for Original, Arrange, and Operation Wipe Out modes in Dino Crisis

  • Easy difficulty, Dino Colosseum, and Dino Duel modes in Dino Crisis 2

  • Upgraded DirectX game renderer and additional rendering options (e.g., V-Sync control, gamma correction, integer scaling, anti-aliasing)

  • 4K rendering resolution and 32-bit color depth

  • Smoother geometry calculation and animation

  • Enhanced video and music playback

  • Cloud saves support via GOG

  • Full array of localizations

The Dino Crisis franchise, launched in 1999, has largely been idle in recent years. Aside from a PlayStation Store rerelease of the first game, CAPCOM has shown limited interest in reviving the series. Series creator Shinji Mikami previously suggested that CAPCOM might not revisit Dino Crisis while Monster Hunter remains so successful, though the publisher has recently signaled willingness to revisit dormant IPs, pointing to new entries for Onimusha and Okami. Given such moves, fans retain hope that Dino Crisis can coexist alongside CAPCOM’s other successful series in the future.
