Dying Light 2 Tower Raid Roguelite Co-Op Mode Now Permanently Available in the Game

Techland has announced that starting today, the Tower Raid roguelite co-op mode that has been tested since mid-2024 is now permanently available in Dying Light 2: Stay Human. This release is part of the franchise’s 10th anniversary celebrations and roadmap, which was discussed at length in Techland’s recent interview with Tymon Smektala.

In Tower Raid, players step away from the shoes of Aiden Caldwell to choose from four distinct characters, each corresponding to a specific class archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Every class comes with its own unique set of skills. Those looking for an extra challenge can form squads smaller than four—or even attempt the run solo, testing their mettle against the undead in a high-stakes environment.

There are three difficulty modes: Quick, Normal, and Elite. This choice alters the length of the session, and each run features a newly mixed set of floors and challenges, ensuring an ever-changing experience for anyone climbing the Tower.

Techland has also introduced a new progression system designed to reward repeated attempts. Every failure unlocks new skills and gear, boosting players’ prospects for their next run. Additionally, the Tower Raid hub now houses Sola, a trader offering unique rewards, including the Office Day Outfit, the Kuai Dagger, and the Silenced Pistol.

While the roguelite co-op mode is now fully integrated into Dying Light 2, Techland encourages player feedback through official social media channels (Facebook, X, Instagram), as well as the Discord and Reddit communities. A special survey will also be released in a few days, capturing deeper insights to help refine the gameplay further.

As revealed in the aforementioned interview with Tymon Smektala, Techland has no shortage of future plans for Dying Light 2, despite the upcoming release of the spin-off title Dying Light: The Beast this summer. Throughout 2025, players can look forward to enhancements in co-op gameplay and matchmaking, Community Map support improvements, new Tower Raid characters, new firearms and melee weapons (including a new weapon class), further Prologue enhancements, and various graphical/technical updates.
