Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Announced for February—Console Players Only

Bandai Namco has officially announced a network test for Elden Ring Nightreign, the standalone multiplayer spinoff of the award-winning Elden Ring, set to take place next month exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. PC players, unfortunately, will have to wait for a future announcement. Sign-ups open tomorrow—head to the official registration page to secure your chance to participate.

What Is Elden Ring Nightreign?

Elden Ring Nightreign, revealed during The Game Awards 2024, is a bold new venture for FromSoftware. This standalone game builds upon the beloved mechanics of Elden Ring, but with a fresh multiplayer-centric twist, incorporating survival and battle royale elements.

According to the official description, players will select from eight unique characters, each equipped with their own abilities and Ultimates, as they venture into the mysterious land of Limveld. Here, they’ll face the Night’s Tide, a night cycle that shrinks the map, culminating in battles with bosses and ultimately the dreaded Nightlord.

Network Test Details

The network test will allow participants to explore a portion of the game while Bandai Namco gathers feedback and performs technical stress tests for the online systems. This large-scale network load test will play a pivotal role in refining the multiplayer infrastructure ahead of the game's full launch.

Gameplay Features in Elden Ring Nightreign

Here’s what you can expect in this condensed action RPG:

  • Dynamic World: Limveld constantly shifts between sessions, offering a unique experience every time.

  • Boss Fights: Face powerful bosses each night, with a climactic showdown against the Nightlord on the third night.

  • Progressive Power: Collect runes, level up at Sites of Grace, and discover powerful weapons to prepare for the challenges ahead.

  • Cooperation and Strategy: Teamwork is crucial. Combine your hero’s unique abilities to conquer the night.

  • Relics and Customization: Even failed runs grant valuable relics for upgrading characters to suit your playstyle.

Each adventure is akin to a dungeon crawl, blending exploration, combat, and progression with an emphasis on replayability.
