From December 20 at 4 AM ET / 1 AM PT / 9 AM GMT through December 23, players can dive into the game at no cost, testing their skills in the gritty, high-stakes arenas of Tarkov.

To participate, simply register on the official Escape from Tarkov website, install the launcher, and you’re set to go. This is the perfect chance to explore whether this competitive spin-off is your kind of challenge.

Rewards for the Free Weekend

As a token of appreciation, all players taking part in the free weekend will receive a unique Snowman T-Shirt for completing a special in-game quest. Best of all, the item is permanent—whether or not you purchase the game after the event ends. It’ll also be available in your account for the original Escape from Tarkov.

Adding to the excitement, there will be a Twitch Drops campaign running during the event. Watch eligible streams in the Escape from Tarkov: Arena category to snag extra in-game goodies, including currency, exclusive holiday-themed Oakley SI Gascan White Glasses, and a Winter Half-Mask—perfect for getting into the festive spirit while battling it out in Tarkov.

Major Updates Coming with Patch 0.16.0.0

Coinciding with the free weekend, Patch 0.16.0.0 will roll out for Escape from Tarkov. This significant update includes:

  • A server wipe to refresh gameplay.

  • Transition to the 2022 Unity engine, offering improved visuals and performance.

  • Upgrades to the game’s sound system.

  • Refreshed environments for several in-game locations.

Once the patch is live, the Winter Drops Event will begin, giving players even more opportunities to snag valuable in-game items and festive rewards.

More details on the patch and a full Winter Drops Event schedule are expected soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
