EVE Online 2025 Roadmap Shared in Directors’ Stream; Two Expansions Coming

CCP Games has unveiled its ambitious 2025 roadmap for EVE Online, announcing two major expansions for the coming year and confirming the return of a highly popular in-game event. The news arrived during a Directors’ Stream that can be viewed via the official CCP Games Twitch channel and YouTube channel. According to CCP, the Revenant storyline will remain in focus through Q1 2025, advancing tensions between the Deathless and the Drifters, and leading directly into the first of the expansions set for the summer. This new expansion will grant players greater autonomy over the sandbox experience, enabling them to design and share content in more robust ways. As expressed by Game Director Snorri Arnason, “From customizing sovereign space to crafting missions that spark new alliances, the 2025 roadmap is all about letting players create and shape their own moments.”

Beyond the summer update, the second expansion is planned for winter 2025, though details remain scarce. Meanwhile, community-favorite seasonal events—Capsuleer Day, Crimson Harvest, and Winter Nexus—will all return, offering annual highlights that often unite players in both gameplay and lore. CCP also announced that EVE Fanfest 2025, the ultimate real-world gathering for EVE Online enthusiasts, will be held from May 1 to May 3 at Reykjavik’s Harpa Concert Hall. Tickets, including those for a $35 basic tier and a $295 Festival Pass, are nearly sold out on Eventbrite. The more premium option grants exclusive in-game bonuses, an official T-shirt, a goodie bag, and access to the much-loved “Party at the Top of the World.” As Creative Director Bergur Finnbogason put it, “2025 will be monumental for EVE Online. We’ve listened to player feedback to refine our development process and create high-quality expansions that empower capsuleers.”

How do you think the community-driven gameplay and fresh expansions in 2025 might shape alliances, rivalries, and the broader political landscape of New Eden? Share your hopes for the upcoming EVE Online releases below.
