Fallout 76 Celebrates 21 Million Players and Seeks Labor of Love Nominations

Fallout 76, one of the most talked-about entries in the Fallout franchise, has officially surpassed 21 million players. In light of this milestone, the developers are reaching out to the community, encouraging fans to nominate the game for the Steam Labor of Love Award.

Since its launch in 2018, Fallout 76 faced a rocky start, plagued by numerous bugs typical of many Bethesda titles. However, the developers have dedicated significant effort to enhance the game, drawing parallels to the redemption arc of No Man's Sky. Key updates, such as Milepost Zero, have introduced features like Legendary crafting and new delivery quests, significantly enriching the gameplay experience.

In a recent blog post, the Fallout 76 team highlighted several important points:

  • Over 50 Free Updates: The game has received a wealth of content updates, reflecting the developers' commitment to improving player experience.

  • Community Growth: The player base has expanded, with 21 million Vault-dwellers now exploring the wasteland of Appalachia.

  • Feedback Channels: Players can share their thoughts and suggestions through various platforms, including Reddit, X, and Discord. A Player Test Server is also available for those who wish to provide direct feedback.

To celebrate the player milestone, the team is preparing further enhancements to game systems and player loadouts, following the Locked & Loaded update. On December 3, a new update titled Gleaming Depths will be released, featuring:

  • A brand-new raid

  • C.A.M.P. pets

  • Four-Star Legendaries

  • Player Titles

  • Various quality-of-life improvements

The developers have shared sneak peeks of the Gleaming Depths update, showcasing some of the new pets players can adopt for their C.A.M.P.

As the Steam Awards nominations are now open, fans are encouraged to vote for Fallout 76 in the Labor of Love category, recognizing the game's evolution and the dedication of its community.
