Fortnite Ballistic: A New Tactical 5v5 Mode Launching Soon

Epic Games has just unveiled Fortnite Ballistic, an exciting new 5v5 tactical first-person competitive mode set to launch in early access on December 11, 2024. This fresh addition to the popular Battle Royale game promises to bring a unique gameplay experience, reminiscent of tactical shooters like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

Key Features of Fortnite Ballistic

  • Launch Date: Early access begins on December 11, 2024.

  • Map: The mode will debut with a single map, Skyline 10.

  • Gameplay Structure:

    • Players are divided into attackers and defenders.

    • Attackers aim to plant a Rift Point Device at one of two designated locations.

    • Defenders must prevent this from happening.

    • A round concludes when the device explodes or one team is eliminated.

    • After six rounds, teams switch roles, and the match ends when one team wins seven rounds.

Players can enhance their strategies by selecting from five Flex Gadgets at the start of each match. Each player can keep two gadgets in their inventory, which cannot be dropped or picked up by others. Some examples of these gadgets include:

  • Proximity Mine: Plant booby traps to catch enemies off guard.

  • Bubble Shield: Provide cover for your team.

  • Recon Grenade: Mark nearby enemies for easier targeting.

  • Frag Grenade and Impulse Grenade: Use these to flush out foes or create tactical advantages.

Fortnite Ballistic will offer two match types:

  1. Unranked Matches: A casual experience with backfill for players who leave.

  2. Ranked Matches: Designed for competitive play, where players can gain or lose ranks based on their performance. Note that leaving a ranked match incurs a penalty, and these matches do not allow backfilling.

What are your thoughts on this new mode? Are you excited to dive into Fortnite Ballistic, or do you prefer sticking with the classic Fortnite OG? Share your opinions in the comments!
