Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Shows Off Castle Black, Winterfell, and Fantastical Creatures for Its Co-Op Mode

Netmarble is ramping up excitement for its upcoming action/adventure title, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, following a recent Closed Beta Test. The developers have shared new gameplay snippets and brief videos via X, showcasing iconic locations such as Castle Black—with its imposing ice wall—and Winterfell, the ancestral home of House Stark. You can view these early glimpses on X here: video 1 and video 2. Additionally, the studio released a press statement revealing new fantastical creatures drawn from the lesser-known lore of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire.

In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, players will have the opportunity to engage in cooperative multiplayer encounters within the "Altar of Memories" mode, where they face off against boss-level foes. The game introduces a host of original adversaries, including Ice Spiders—described as “as big as hounds” and once used by the White Walkers to spread terror—Stormhorn Unicorns from Skagos, Ironbeak Griffins that once roamed the valleys of the Westerlands, and the grotesque Red Cockatrice with its dragon-like body and rooster’s head. The gameplay footage also includes an intense battle against 'Field Boss Drogon', a nod to Daenerys’s iconic black dragon, as seen in this trailer.

Set in an original narrative, players assume the role of a new character who becomes the heir to House Tyre, a small noble family in Northern Westeros. The game offers a robust character creator along with three distinct classes—Sellsword, Knight, or Assassin—each inspired by the core archetypes of the series. As players explore a transformed Westeros filled with myth and mayhem, they will uncover secrets and forge alliances in a world where the stakes are as high as the legendary tales that inspired it.

Netmarble has teased that further details, including the official launch date, will be revealed soon. For now, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is poised to deliver a unique blend of exploration, tactical combat, and immersive storytelling across iOS, Android, and PC platforms.
