Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: First Game Requiring Hardware Ray Tracing Support

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is breaking new ground in gaming technology, as MachineGames confirms it will require hardware ray tracing support on all systems. The game, launching December 9, 2024 (early access for Premium Edition holders on December 6), runs on the id Tech engine, renowned for its high performance but now optimized for cinematic visuals and immersive adventure over traditional gameplay mechanics.

The game includes path tracing, delivering unparalleled lighting and environmental detail. However, these advancements demand powerful hardware, particularly for Ultra Path Tracing, which requires DLSS 3 Frame Generation paired with Super Resolution to achieve 60 FPS, even on high-end GPUs.
