Lords of the Fallen Update 1.7: Smoother Combat, NPC Summons, and More

HEXWORKS is keeping the fire alive for Lords of the Fallen fans with its latest major patch, Update 1.7. Following the impactful 1.6 update in November, which introduced enhanced Umbral realm exploration, better balance, and support for PlayStation 5 Pro, the developers are now focusing on polishing combat mechanics and adding new features to improve the overall experience.

Combat in Lords of the Fallen just got a lot smoother. With this update, HEXWORKS has implemented refined animation canceling, improved invincibility frames, and more intuitive dodges and rolls. Attack prompts are now more responsive, and stamina management has been rebalanced for a more fluid and tactical approach. These changes aim to make combat more engaging for all players—whether you're just starting or a seasoned veteran.

Quality-of-Life Upgrades

Version 1.7 also brings several much-requested quality-of-life improvements:

  • Automatic Vigor Collection: A toggleable option, first introduced in 1.6, now works seamlessly.

  • Realistic Enemy Attack Ranges: More immersive and fair encounters.

  • New Game Plus Balancing: Tailored adjustments to keep the challenge consistent across subsequent playthroughs.

NPC Summons for Boss Fights

New players can breathe a sigh of relief as NPC summons are now available before the first boss encounter, providing a helping hand without requiring an initial defeat. Notably, the update introduces a new summonable ally: the Hallowed Sentinel Hound, affectionately known as "Good Boy," who joins the roster of fan-favorite characters.

HEXWORKS has already confirmed a sequel slated for 2026, promising significant gameplay upgrades, higher production values, and more. The upcoming title will launch as an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, thanks to a substantial investment from Epic Games.

For now, players can dive into Lords of the Fallen and experience these new enhancements for themselves. To sweeten the deal, the game is currently available on Steam for 60% off—but only for a limited time.
