Marvel Rivals to Introduce Fantastic Four in January Update

According to a recent leak from a Chinese app, NetEase’s hit free-to-play third-person hero shooter Marvel Rivals will expand its roster next week with the Fantastic Four. Fans can expect to play as Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing starting Friday, January 10.

A Growing Success Story

Since its launch last month, Marvel Rivals has achieved significant milestones:

  • Surpassed 20 million players across all platforms.

  • Ranked among the top-played games in the U.S. during the final week of 2024.

The game’s roster currently features 33 heroes and villains, including iconic characters like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch. With the addition of the Fantastic Four, the roster will expand to 37 characters, making it one of the most diverse hero lineups in the genre.

The addition of the Fantastic Four hints at NetEase’s ambitious plans for Marvel Rivals' live-service model. With Season 1 still ongoing, the developers are likely to unveil more characters from Marvel's extensive universe in the coming months. Potential additions could include; Deadpool, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Cyclops, Gambit, Sabretooth, and Kingpin, among others.
