Monster Hunter Wilds PC Performance Improvements Confirmed; PlayStation 5 Pro Day-One Patch Details Announced

Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for its February 28th release, and fans can expect significant performance enhancements following feedback from the open beta. During the Pre-Launch Community Update stream, Director Yuya Tokuda reassured players that PC performance will be noticeably improved, delivering a smoother and better-optimized experience on the same hardware configurations used during the beta test.

PlayStation 5 Pro and Console Optimization

Monster Hunter Wilds will receive a day-one patch for PlayStation 5 Pro, introducing enhancements over the base console model. Although exact details were not disclosed, the patch is expected to make full use of the Pro’s hardware capabilities.

For those on base PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, two performance modes will be available:

  • Prioritize Graphics Mode:

    • Target Resolution: 2160p output, upscaled from 3072x1728

    • Framerate: 30 FPS

  • Prioritize Framerate Mode:

    • Target Resolution: 2160p output, upscaled from 1080p

    • Framerate: 60 FPS

Xbox Series S players will see a single display mode targeting 1080p resolution and 30 FPS. Across all platforms, Monster Hunter Wilds will implement AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) for upscaling to the target resolutions, replacing the checkerboard rendering used in the beta.

What’s New in the Final Build?

In addition to performance upgrades, Capcom shared various gameplay refinements in the final build of Monster Hunter Wilds. These include:

  • Weapon-Specific Tweaks: Enhancements to make combat feel smoother and more responsive.

  • Return of Hitstop: The impactful feedback when landing hits on monsters is back, offering an improved combat experience.

  • Additional Adjustments: Quality-of-life improvements and balancing changes based on beta feedback.
