Monster Hunter Wilds Update #1 Launches on All Platforms: Mizutsune and Zoh Shia Join the Hunt, Grand Hub and Arena Quests Introduced
CAPCOM has officially released the first major post-launch update for Monster Hunter Wilds, now available across all supported platforms. The update delivers a significant content expansion including new monsters, missions, gear, and gameplay systems, while also introducing the long-awaited Grand Hub and Arena Quest modes. On Steam, the update requires a 6GB download, or 16GB if high-resolution texture packs are installed.
Major Content Additions and Features
New Monsters and Missions
Mizutsune has been added to the roster. Players can unlock a special mission after reaching Hunter Rank (HR) 21 by speaking to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp.
Tempered Mizutsune becomes available at HR 41+ upon completion of the Mizutsune mission.
Zoh Shia has been introduced as a new high-rank monster. Players at HR 50 can unlock a dedicated story mission.
Additional story, side, and extra missions have been included, expanding the game’s narrative and challenge offerings.
Grand Hub Introduction Unlocked at HR 16, the Grand Hub acts as a new central multiplayer social zone with a range of activities:
Barrel Bowling
The Diva (musical performance venue)
Arena Quest Counter
Canteen
Arm Wrestling Barrel
Expedition Record Board with new Time Attack rankings
Arena and Challenge Quests
Arena Quests and Challenge Quests have been added.
Free Challenge Quests (no equipment restrictions) will become available in a future update.
Gameplay Enhancements
New weapons, armor sets, and skills are available.
The upgrade limit for armor rated Rarity 5 and above has been increased.
New status ailments and limited bounty categories are now included.
Hunter Profiles now feature an Arena Log page.
Appearance customization options for Alma (the Handler) have been expanded.
Preparations for Festival of Accord The update includes preparations for the upcoming seasonal event, Festival of Accord, which will run from April 23 to May 6. Temporary changes during the event will include:
Handler and Seikret outfit updates
Altered Grand Hub decorations and menu items
New musical selections for The Diva
Event Quest: "Anguish and Atrocity" A limited-time event quest pits players against a Guardian Doshaguma at the Ruins of Wyveria. Successful completion will yield additional Hunter Rank Points. The quest is available until April 8 at 4:59 PM PT.
Known Issues CAPCOM has confirmed a bug causing crashes when players interact with Nata to trade with Sekka via the Village Intermediary. As a temporary workaround, players are advised to wait or rest using the BBQ Menu until a fix is released.
Monster Hunter Wilds recently surpassed 10 million units sold in its first month, setting a new all-time sales record for CAPCOM. Continued post-launch support such as this update is positioned to sustain its strong momentum and may ultimately see it overtake Monster Hunter World, which has sold 21.3 million units globally.
