Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 to Receive Multiple Xbox Games in 2025, Suggests New Report

Multiple Xbox titles will be making their way to both the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 platforms later this year, expanding beyond previously announced releases, according to recent insights shared online by industry insider Tom Warren of The Verge.

In his recent comments accompanying the announcement of the release date for the PlayStation 5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Tom Warren stated that the year 2025 will see significantly more Xbox games launching on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo’s upcoming next-gen console, the Switch 2. The report from Warren hints strongly at a strategic shift from Microsoft, which historically has maintained many titles as Xbox-exclusive.

Although Microsoft hasn't officially announced specific titles yet, speculation strongly suggests Starfield might be one of the high-profile Xbox exclusives soon heading to the PlayStation 5. The appearance of the PS5 logo in recent Creation listings indicates that an official announcement and imminent release for Sony’s console might be forthcoming.

Another major title rumored to join this cross-platform strategy is Playground Games' upcoming Fable reboot. Recently delayed to 2026, reports suggest work on non-Xbox versions has already commenced, positioning it for a simultaneous multiplatform launch. How exactly the Nintendo Switch 2 will handle a demanding game like Fable, given its anticipated lower technical specifications compared to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, remains an open question. However, technological advancements and optimization could play a crucial role in bridging the performance gap.

This approach aligns with Microsoft’s recent emphasis on reaching a broader audience, particularly following the Activision Blizzard merger and commitments made to expand accessibility of popular titles. With the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct scheduled for next week, it’s likely some of these anticipated Xbox releases will be officially confirmed then.
