Paradox Interactive Has Acquired Haemimont Games
Paradox Interactive announced that it has reached a binding agreement to acquire Haemimont Games, the Sofia-based developer known for titles such as Tropico 3–5, Surviving Mars, Victor Vran, Stranded: Alien Dawn, and, most recently, Jagged Alliance 3. Under this arrangement, Haemimont Games will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Paradox, retaining its current leadership and ongoing projects. The purchase involves an upfront cash payment and a performance-related earn-out over the next few years—no final sum was disclosed. The deal will be financed through Paradox’s existing cash on hand and is expected to close within days.
Haemimont’s Legacy & Future Founded and headquartered in Sofia, Haemimont Games has covered an array of genres—from city-building and simulation (Tropico series) to action RPGs (Victor Vran) and survival simulation (Stranded: Alien Dawn). The studio’s more recent work on Jagged Alliance 3 shifted toward tactical RPG design. Moving forward, they will continue development on in-progress projects as part of Paradox Interactive’s portfolio of studios.
