PUBG: Blindspot Is a New 5v5 Top-Down Tactical Shooter; Demo Available During February Steam Next Fest
KRAFTON has unveiled PUBG: Blindspot, a new 5v5 team-based top-down tactical shooter that draws inspiration from the fast-paced shooting and weaponry of PUBG. Once known by its internal codename “Project Arc,” this latest addition to the PUBG universe offers an accelerated, close-quarters combat (CQC) style with an emphasis on real-time line of sight mechanics, enabling players to coordinate instantaneously and effectively with their teammates.
Fast-Paced 5v5 Skirmishes
In PUBG: Blindspot, the unique gameplay twist comes from each player’s field of vision being shared with the entire squad, making non-verbal cooperation seamless. The action is frenetic, offering a variety of game modes:
Demolition Missions: Attackers attempt to breach a hidden Crypt and install a “Decrypter,” using grenades, explosive hammers, and creative infiltration tactics. Defenders must stall or eliminate the opposing team by blocking access and erecting barricades.
Team Deathmatch: A more direct firefight approach, played on smaller maps, which highlights the game’s immediate and punishing gunplay.
Wide Array of Weapons & Gadgets
True to the spirit of PUBG, PUBG: Blindspot includes an arsenal of familiar arms such as Mk14, AWM, and P90, each adapted for top-down combat. Additional gadgets and deployable tools—like Blue Zone Grenades, Reconnaissance Drones, Grenade Launchers, and Close Quarters Explosives—add variety to the moment-to-moment gameplay. Smoke grenades, flash bangs, and other tactical items also return, enhancing the depth of coordinated takedowns.
The game features ten unique characters, each with a signature weapon and specialized tool. Players can experiment with distinct loadouts to find a playstyle that resonates—whether that’s suppressive fire from an assault rifle, pinpoint takedowns with a sniper rifle, or area-of-effect chaos via a grenade launcher.
