Solidigm Discontinues Consumer SSD Line, Shifts Focus Entirely to Datacenter Solutions

Solidigm, a subsidiary of SK hynix and a well-known name in the consumer SSD market, has reportedly ceased all production and sales of its consumer SSD products. This marks a significant pivot for the company, which will now dedicate its efforts exclusively to the datacenter storage segment.

The End of Solidigm’s Consumer SSD Lineup

Solidigm's popular P41 Plus and P44 Pro SSD series have been removed from the company’s official website. Visitors to the product pages are now greeted with a “Product Discontinuation” message, confirming that these lines have reached their end of life as of October 2024. Additionally, the website has eliminated its consumer SSD category altogether, showcasing only datacenter-oriented storage solutions.

The decision to discontinue consumer SSDs appears to have been in the works for months. This aligns with Solidigm’s gradual transition toward enterprise and datacenter solutions, which began gaining traction in recent quarters.
