Sonic Rumble Delayed, Now Coming Spring 2025
Sega has announced that its new party game, Sonic Rumble, inspired by the wildly popular Fall Guys, has been delayed to Spring 2025. Originally slated for an end-of-2024 launch, the shift was confirmed in a recent blog post by Sega, where the company also teased several exciting new features.
In the post, Sega extended its thanks to players and Sonic fans for their patience, stating, "We would like to extend a huge thank you to our players and Sonic fans for their patience in waiting for the global launch of Sonic Rumble. The team is committed to delivering a memorable experience for Sonic fans with even more new game mechanics, new features, and more exciting content to look forward to." A gameplay trailer was also shared.
During its pre-launch early-access period, players were able to experiment with a limited set of features. For its full global launch in Spring 2025, Sonic Rumble is set to reach version 1.2.0, introducing a competitive game mode and a new feature called "Crew," which will allow players to team up and take on rivals together. For those who prefer shorter gaming sessions, a Quick Rumble mode will also be available, offering matches that last a single round.
Sega is aiming to make Sonic Rumble a truly unique experience by leveraging the special abilities of characters from across Sonic’s universe. As one example, players will soon have the chance to stun their opponents with Amy's signature Piko Piko Hammer—adding strategic depth and variety to the gameplay.
Upon its release, Sonic Rumble will be available on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam. It remains uncertain whether the title will also arrive on console, as Sega's next major console release, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, is scheduled for later this year on both console and PC.
