Warframe’s Techrot Encore Update Arrives March 19 – Introducing Temple and a Host of New Features
During its latest live stream, Digital Extremes unveiled extensive details about the forthcoming Techrot Encore update, scheduled to launch on March 19. This major update will introduce the 60th Warframe, Temple, alongside an array of new gameplay mechanics, mission types, and content enhancements designed to expand Warframe’s universe.
As the newest Warframe, Temple brings a distinctive playstyle to the battlefield. Players will unleash heatwave projectiles, summon Techrot Subwoofer minions to boost allies and hinder foes, and perform a “Solo of the Century” that triggers devastating flame jets. Additionally, Temple can call upon the sapient Infested guitar, Lizzie, as an Exalted Weapon—a unique tool that fires projectiles with a single pluck and can temporarily transform into a flamethrower.
The update also debuts four new Protoframes, each adding depth and diversity to Warframe’s roster:
• Flare (Temple): A transcendent entity designed to defy conventional boundaries of gender and biology.
• Minerva (Saryn) and Velimir II (Frost): Two battle-hardened veterans with a storied past, whose connection even ties into the lore of Warframe: 1999 antagonist Major Rusalka.
• Kaya (Nova): A self-taught engineering genius with a special interest in time travel, offering fresh tactical possibilities.
Techrot Encore further enriches the game with two innovative mission types. Stage Defense reimagines the classic defense format by tasking players with protecting Flare during a memorial concert for band members lost to the oppressive Scaldra regime. Meanwhile, Temporal Archimedea challenges teams to complete three consecutive, randomly selected missions, using Kaya’s new Peely Pix system to choose upgradeable modifiers that dynamically alter each mission’s flow. In addition, the update introduces Ollie’s Crash Course, an atomic racing mini-game included in the Höllvania Mall Hub arcade collection, as part of Digital Extremes’ Make-A-Wish commitment to James Conlin.
Simultaneously, Digital Extremes has launched the Open Beta for the new Warframe mobile companion app. The updated app features Steam login support, streamlined navigation, and a redesigned settings page—enhancing the overall user experience. iOS Users can Join via TestFlight and Android Users on Google Play

In a separate live stream dedicated to Soulframe, Digital Extremes provided fresh insights for Preludes (Pre-Alpha Test) players of its upcoming fantasy-themed game. The update introduces two new social Enclave hubs tied to a faction system and a faction-based side-quest structure. In addition to the previously announced Silent Rose faction, players can now choose to pledge allegiance to Alca’s Children or Kith of Kings. A new caster weapon type was also showcased, capable of firing energy bolts from both hands and tricking enemies into thinking you’re unarmed.
