BetaDwarf Announces New ARPG PvPvE Named Vaultbreakers

The developer and publisher BetaDwarf, known for Forced, Forced Showdown, and Minion Masters, has unveiled a new top-down ARPG PvPvE title called Vaultbreakers. Formerly referred to as “Project F4E,” the game seeks to deliver a fresh spin on ARPGs and multiplayer brawlers by merging cooperative action with unpredictable, player-driven encounters. The official reveal trailer showcases an evolving fantasy world, dynamic factional interactions, and a competitive yet cooperative focus.

A Shifting, Reactive World

Vaultbreakers presents players with an evolving universe that reacts to their choices. Missions can transform on the fly due to actions taken by either players or AI-controlled elements, forcing an ever-changing approach to completing objectives. According to Steffen Kabbelgaard, CEO and Game Director at BetaDwarf, this design aims to bring “a fresh new multiplayer ARPG experience,” emphasizing both player skill and adaptability.

PvPvE Gameplay with Changelings

Central to Vaultbreakers are the Changelings, a faction of shape-shifters that can be controlled by AI or by other players. This means the environment and enemy behaviors can shift quickly, compelling squads to decide whether to engage, evade, or even ally with potential adversaries. Meanwhile, the game offers a brawler-style combat system combined with tactical extractions—adding a cooperative layer akin to games where you must secure precious loot and safely exit a mission.

Champions, Artifacts, and Leaderboards

Among the various features planned, Vaultbreakers includes:

  • Multiple Champions: Each with unique abilities, perks, and skill paths.

  • Artifacts & Items: Gear that bolsters your character’s strength and unlocks new play styles.

  • Competitive Quests: Missions offering leaderboards where players can vie for top rankings and in-game rewards.

With an emphasis on replayability, BetaDwarf aims to keep players engaged through reactive missions, shifting landscapes, and an array of unlockable content—whether you’re looking for cooperative runs or intense rivalries against other players.

Exclusive Playtest Opportunity

BetaDwarf will hold a closed playtest for Vaultbreakers on January 31, covering the first two chapters of the game’s narrative campaign. Interested gamers can request access through Steam or by signing up on the official website. Content creators who partner with BetaDwarf can participate in Twitch Drop campaigns, distributing keys to viewers. Participants who earn Legacy Points during the trial can expect to retain certain rewards when the full release arrives.
