BETHESDA & MAKE-A-WISH LAUNCH SILENT AUCTION FOR A CHANCE TO BECOME AN NPC IN THE ELDER SCROLLS VI

Bethesda Game Studios has teamed up with Make-A-Wish to offer a unique opportunity for fans of The Elder Scrolls franchise: the highest bidder in an ongoing silent auction will get the chance to work directly with the development team on The Elder Scrolls VI and appear in the game as an NPC (non-player character). This special collaboration supports Make-A-Wish’s mission while granting one passionate gamer the opportunity of a lifetime.

“Calling all gamers and fantasy fans! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows you to immortalize yourself in one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time, The Elder Scrolls VI,” reads the official auction statement. Through close cooperation with Bethesda, the lucky winner will design and develop a unique character who will appear in the next installment of the beloved fantasy role-playing series.

However, the privilege is understandably not cheap. Current bidding has already soared well beyond $10,000 USD, and it is expected to climb even higher. Moreover, it appears this auction is only open to United States residents, with no publicly listed end date; bidders presumably receive further details upon placing a bid.

This isn’t the first instance of fans or community icons being included in The Elder Scrolls VI. Back in 2018, the community launched a petition for the inclusion of ‘Skyrim Grandma’ Shirley Curry, a beloved YouTuber known for sharing her Elder Scrolls adventures. Bethesda soon scanned Curry into the game to ensure she’d be part of The Elder Scrolls VI, while community modders have also brought her to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim through unofficial mods.

Initially unveiled at E3 2018, The Elder Scrolls VI only entered production around the August 2023 launch of Starfield, making its release window likely somewhere between late 2027 and 2028. For fans who have long awaited a single-player journey back into Tamriel, this Make-A-Wish auction represents a rare chance to leave a personal mark on one of the most eagerly anticipated RPGs in modern gaming.

Would you bid on an opportunity to become an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI, or is the price tag too steep? Share your thoughts in the comments—perhaps your tale might echo in the halls of Tamriel!
