KARMA: The Dark World to Launch Next Month on PS5 and PC, Will Support PS5 Pro

Wired Productions and Shanghai-based indie developer Pollard Studio have announced that the first-person psychological thriller KARMA: The Dark World will debut on March 27 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. Priced at $24.99, it can be pre-ordered at a 10% discount on both platforms, with an additional 10% discount for existing Wired Productions customers on Steam. An Xbox version is also in development and is slated to launch at a later date.

This upcoming release will be enhanced on PlayStation 5 Pro with a comprehensive PSSR integration designed to bolster image quality, texture clarity, and overall definition. Players can expect improved reflections, superior distance rendering, and what the publisher describes as “rock solid 60fps performance” at 4K resolution on the PS5 Pro.

“Wired Productions has always championed storytellers who push the boundaries and craft compelling narratives. Yonghe Wang and Pollard Studio team have raised the bar and have delivered a rollercoaster assault on the senses, in an abstract, surreal, dark yet hauntingly beautiful cinematic gaming masterpiece. If Kojima, Christopher Nolan and the late and great David Lynch ever had the chance to work on a project from China, KARMA: The Dark World might just be the end result,” said Leo Zullo, Managing Director at Wired Productions, in a press statement.

KARMA: The Dark World is set in a dystopian alternate East Germany in 1984, controlled by the Leviathan Corporation through mass surveillance, strict social class divisions, and mind-altering drugs. Players take on the role of Daniel McGovern, a Roam Agent for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau, utilizing advanced technology to enter the minds of the accused and gather evidence via crime scene investigations and suspect interviews, ultimately reporting findings back to Leviathan. The game leverages Unreal Engine 5, promising atmospheric visuals and immersive gameplay suitable for fans of psychological thrillers.
