Black State Looks Fantastic in New 4K Gameplay from CES 2025
Turkish indie studio Motion Blur made an impact at CES 2025 with a fresh demo of their upcoming stealth-action shooter Black State, showcased in a glorious 4K resolution. Captured by IGN, this new footage reveals an incredible level of photorealism, especially notable given the project’s indie status. While the game is built on Unreal Engine 5, Motion Blur isn’t using the usual Lumen and Nanite features, opting for a specially developed pipeline that they say will deliver top-tier visuals and “unbelievable optimization.”
Metal Gear Solid appears to be the obvious inspiration here, as Black State emphasizes stealth, tactical gadgets, and intense infiltration sequences. The protagonist is recruited by a secretive group of scientists known as the Architects, assigned to rescue captives while unraveling the mystery behind a catastrophic event. The game also features seamless level transitions with no loading screens; one door might lead you into a firefight, another could drop you into a tense stealth segment.
Combat offers a robust arsenal, ranging from pistols, rifles, and shotguns to inventive explosives. Over a hundred cinematic kill moves are implemented for close-quarters takedowns, while enemies include elite special forces and advanced robotic threats. Boss battles are also confirmed, each with unique mechanics to master. NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation will be supported at launch, helping high-end GeForce RTX 50 GPUs maintain smooth performance.
Motion Blur hasn’t revealed a release date for Black State, but given the tech on display, it’s likely to make a splash when it finally arrives.
