Blizzard Schedules Diablo IV Developer Livestream for April 24, Promises Full Reveal of Season 8: Belial’s Return

Blizzard Entertainment has set an official date for the next Diablo IV Developer Update Livestream: Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. BT. During the broadcast, the team will unveil comprehensive details on the upcoming Season 8: Belial’s Return, which launches five days later on April 29. The announcement came via the franchise’s X account and was followed by a supporting blog post outlining what viewers can expect.

Season 8 will introduce a new questline centered on the Lord of Lies, fresh seasonal powers that let players harness bosses’ abilities, and a slate of quality‑of‑life refinements that testers have explored for more than a month on the Public Test Realm. Blizzard has also teased “a special collaboration with an outside series” and hinted at plans to commemorate Diablo IV’s second anniversary—both flagged on the 2025 content roadmap.

Immediately after the presentation, developers will field community questions in a live Q&A. For those unable to watch in real time, Blizzard will publish a written recap on its news portal alongside patch notes closer to launch.

Although Blizzard confirmed there will be no large‑scale expansion in 2025—an add‑on comparable in scope to Vessel of Hatred is now slated for 2026—the studio emphasized that this year’s seasonal updates will continue to deliver significant gameplay additions. Season 8’s boss‑power system is positioned as the headline feature, giving players a new layer of build customization.
