Borderlands 4 Story Trailer Premieres at The Game Awards

The Game Awards is in full swing, showcasing exciting reveals and honoring the year's best games. One of the night’s most anticipated moments arrived with the debut of the Borderlands 4 story trailer, finally giving fans a detailed look at the upcoming installment in the beloved looter-shooter franchise. Gearbox Software Founder Randy Pitchford introduced the trailer, and it didn’t disappoint.

The trailer provides a glimpse of the new planet Kairos, a sprawling world ruled by a fearsome leader. It also teases new Vault Hunters, diverse weaponry, and the most customizable skill trees ever seen in the series. For fans hungry for gameplay details, Borderlands 4 introduces:

  • Traversal Mechanics: Seamlessly summon vehicles anywhere to navigate Kairos and uncover loot hidden in its expansive environments.

  • Solo or Co-op Play: Team up with up to three friends or venture solo as you embark on a wild ride across this hostile world.

The cinematic flair of the trailer is backed by an engaging narrative that hints at a power struggle, chaos, and, of course, an arsenal of wacky weapons that Borderlands is known for.

While no specific release date has been announced yet, Borderlands 4 is slated for a 2025 launch. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Fans who attended PAX West earlier this year got an early peek at some concept art and insights from the Gearbox development team. Tonight’s trailer builds upon that, promising the most expansive and creative Borderlands experience yet.
