CI Games Affirms Focus on Player-First Experiences, Avoiding DEI Elements in Future Games
CI Games, the studio behind Lords of the Fallen, has clarified its stance on integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) elements in its games. During a recent investor call, Global Marketing Director Ryan Hill stated the studio will prioritize "player-first" experiences, focusing on themes and characters tailored to core and adjacent audiences.
Hill emphasized that while some developers have integrated "social and political agendas" into their titles, the commercial underperformance of these games indicates that many players prefer entertainment without these elements. By concentrating on maximizing player enjoyment and ensuring commercial success, CI Games remains steadfast in its goal to deliver exceptional user experiences.
In the same discussion, the studio revealed updates on the future of the Lords of the Fallen franchise. The 2023 game will continue receiving updates up to version 2.0, addressing feedback and enhancing gameplay. Furthermore, CI Games confirmed that the sequel is already in development, with extensive playtesting planned for 2025 to refine the experience further.
Lords of the Fallen is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The game has seen significant improvements since its initial release. If you’re eager to dive into this dark and compelling world, now’s the perfect time to check it out.
