Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Launches on April 24th; New Trailer Released
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the debut role-playing game from developer Sandfall Interactive, has officially been confirmed for release on April 24th. Announced during the Xbox Developer Direct 2025, the game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S simultaneously, and will be included in the Xbox Game Pass library right on day one.
In addition to revealing the release date, Sandfall Interactive presented a fresh trailer showcasing this Belle Époque-inspired fantasy world. The gameplay incorporates turn-based combat infused with real-time elements, rewarding players who time their attacks and spells precisely to score bigger combos and interrupt enemy moves. According to the developer, these spells—Push, Pull, and Weave—will play a crucial role in giving players a tactical advantage during battles. Exploring the broad World Map, players can discover hidden secrets, face side quests and challenges, set up camp to reinforce their gear, and forge deeper bonds with their traveling companions.
Monoco, a shape-shifting Gestral voiced by Rich Keeble, and Esquie, a towering ally portrayed by Maxence Cazorla, stand out as two main partners helping the protagonist navigate the world of Lumière. Their special abilities unlock new pathways, whether swimming through enchanted lakes, gliding across sky-high vistas, or venturing into uncharted regions. With an estimated 10-12 hours of gameplay, Sandfall Interactive is promising a focused yet deep journey, complete with rich storytelling, strategic combat, and classic RPG exploration elements.
