Covenant – Legion Studio Unleashes a New Trailer for Its First‑Person Dark‑Fantasy Action Epic
Independent developer Legion Studio has released the second official trailer for Covenant, its ambitious first‑person dark‑fantasy action game, during the Galaxies Showcase 2025. First revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Covenant is being crafted by a 12‑person team whose collective résumé spans Call of Duty, DOOM, Apex Legends, Battlefield, Destiny, and Halo.
A heavenly warrior in an interconnected realm
Players assume the mantle of a warrior‑angel dispatched from the Heavens to track the fallen angel Malach through Creation—a fully interconnected realm designed in the spirit of Soulslike level architecture. Expect layered exploration with puzzles, riddles, platforming, and hidden shortcuts that reward curiosity.
Combat engineered for depth and variety
Legion Studio cites influences ranging from fighting games (Tekken, Smash Bros.) and immersive sims (Dark Messiah, Dishonored) to modern action classics (Dark Souls). Melee is paramount: multiple combat stances alter everything from running and jumping to kicking and sliding, delivering dramatically different play styles. Magic augments each build, allowing for intricate strategy and creativity.
Multiplayer options
Beyond its single‑player campaign, Covenant will offer co‑op play alongside dedicated competitive arenas supporting 1 v 1, 2 v 2, and 3 v 3 matches.
Still in early production, the studio aims for a full release without Early Access but may choose that route if additional funding becomes essential; a publishing partner is currently being sought. While console ports are on the wish‑list, Legion is presently committed only to the PC version, which can be wish‑listed on Steam.
