Diablo IV’s 2025 Roadmap Confirmed: Seasonal Updates Continue Through Year, Next Expansion Slated for 2026

Blizzard Entertainment has officially unveiled its 2025 roadmap for Diablo IV, detailing a robust schedule of seasonal content under the ongoing "Age of Hatred" arc. The announcement confirms that Diablo IV's next major expansion will not arrive until 2026, marking a longer gap between expansions compared to the game's first post-launch chapter.

As it stands, Diablo IV is currently deep into the Season of Witchcraft, which will conclude later this month. Following this, Blizzard has lined up three new seasons for the rest of 2025:

  • Belial's Return – This season will introduce new lair bosses and serve as a core update for both PvE challenges and lore expansion. It will also include collaborations with other franchises and celebrate the game’s two-year anniversary with unique limited-time content.

  • Sins of the Horadrim – Set to arrive mid-year, this season is poised to deepen endgame content through new nightmare dungeon mechanics and control scheme expansions, including long-requested keyboard and mouse support for consoles.

  • Infernal Chaos – Rounding out the year, this season will bring yet another crossover collaboration, continuing Blizzard's efforts to expand Diablo IV's in-game universe with diverse and unexpected partnerships.

Expansion Plans: A 2026 Vision

While much of 2025 will focus on enriching seasonal gameplay, Blizzard has also teased what's coming further down the road. The next expansion, unnamed at this point, is expected to launch in 2026. According to early teasers, it will feature a leaderboard system and an entirely new ranking framework designed to heighten competitive play and endgame challenge.

The delay between expansions—especially after 2023’s Vessel of Hatred—raises questions among the community about the scope and scale of the upcoming content. However, Blizzard seems committed to delivering meaningful updates throughout 2025 to maintain engagement and evolve the live-service model that defines Diablo IV's modern iteration.

For now, fans can look forward to an active slate of seasonal refreshes, new gameplay mechanics, quality-of-life improvements, and controller enhancements—all while awaiting further information on the ambitious 2026 expansion.
