DOOM: The Dark Ages Will Launch with DLSS 4, Path Tracing; Indiana Jones and Alan Wake 2 Get Cutting-Edge RTX Updates

Following the announcement of the GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs at CES 2025, NVIDIA revealed an array of new RTX technologies coming to both upcoming and existing PC games. DOOM: The Dark Ages, the highly anticipated medieval-themed FPS from id Software, leads the charge, showcasing DLSS 4 and full path tracing on the latest id Tech engine.

Billy Khan, Director of Engine Technology at id Software, emphasized the impact of NVIDIA's advancements:

"With DLSS 4, we are stepping into a new era of gaming. The new ray reconstruction transformer model powers a historical leap in raytracing capabilities—not just accelerating performance but also enhancing visuals in DOOM: The Dark Ages."

This next-gen DOOM title will also feature improved Ray Reconstruction for heightened lighting stability and detail. While no release date has been set, DOOM: The Dark Ages will be available on PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PlayStation 5 at launch.

Expanded DLSS 4 Support Across Games

NVIDIA's DLSS 4 technology, with Multi Frame Generation, is also arriving for other high-profile PC titles such as The Witcher IV, Black State, and Dune: Awakening. Developers have lauded the possibilities offered by the GeForce RTX 50 Series:

Upgrades to Existing Games

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Alan Wake 2 are among the 75 titles receiving major RTX enhancements.

Indiana Jones will gain DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, RTX Hair, and improved Ray Reconstruction for stunning character realism.

"With RTX Hair, players will experience Indiana Jones at its best with a new level of immersion."

Alan Wake 2 will introduce RTX Mega Geometry, allowing for up to 100x more ray-traced triangles with better performance. Remedy will also include a new Ultra Quality Ray Tracing preset, featuring fully ray-traced refractions and indirect lighting.

Later this year, Black Myth: Wukong, Marvel Rivals, and NARAKA: Bladepoint will receive updates to include DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, with Marvel Rivals and NARAKA set for upgrades next month.
