GeForce NOW has expanded mod support for Baldur’s Gate 3

GeForce NOW has expanded its mod support for Baldur’s Gate 3 through a new partnership between NVIDIA, Larian Studios, and mod.io. The cRPG already featured cross-platform mod support via mod.io, but the latest update ensures that GeForce NOW users subscribed to the Ultimate or Performance tiers can download and enable Baldur’s Gate 3 mods directly from the in-game menu, carrying those mods across multiple sessions even though cloud gamers are assigned different remote PCs each time they log in. Users can also subscribe to specific mods on mod.io to have them automatically enabled whenever the game launches through GeForce NOW. Initially, these mods will be limited to those curated for consoles, but NVIDIA has promised additional support for Baldur’s Gate 3 PC mods in the future. This marks another step in NVIDIA’s broader plan to integrate mods and add-ons into GeForce NOW; previously, the company added World of Warcraft add-on compatibility to enhance its cloud gaming platform.

NVIDIA also confirmed that seven new titles are available on GeForce NOW this week: Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel (arriving January 21 on Steam), Among Us (Xbox via PC Game Pass), Amnesia: Collection (Microsoft Store), Lawn Mowing Simulator (Microsoft Store), Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion (Microsoft Store), STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town (Microsoft Store), and Townscaper (Microsoft Store). As more PC game developers partner with NVIDIA, we’ll likely see increased support for a wide range of modding and add-on functionalities on the service, boosting its appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers who want to customize their experiences in the cloud.

What game mods or custom add-ons are you most excited to try on GeForce NOW, and do you think expanded mod support will change the way we play cloud-based titles? Let us know your thoughts!
