Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition: Stunning New Comparison Shows Visual Evolution Since Original Launch

Rockstar Games' recently released Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition on PC represents a remarkable step forward in graphics quality compared to the versions previously released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, a new detailed comparison has now highlighted just how dramatically the game has evolved over the 12 years since its original launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.

The comparison video, expertly crafted by the popular YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits, places the Enhanced Edition side-by-side with the original PS3 release. It vividly illustrates significant graphical enhancements such as vastly improved draw distances, richer and denser vegetation, sharper and higher-quality textures, far more realistic shadows and reflections, and sophisticated lighting improvements including ray-traced global illumination.

While the visual enhancements are undeniably impressive, the video also serves as a testament to Rockstar Games' technical expertise at the time of GTA V’s original release, highlighting how much graphical fidelity the studio managed to squeeze out of the older hardware. Despite aging hardware constraints, the original version still maintains a surprising level of visual quality and detail, even by today’s standards.

This new comparison arrives just ahead of the eagerly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto VI, slated to launch later this year exclusively for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The graphical innovations demonstrated in the Enhanced Edition of GTA V offer a possible glimpse into the advanced visual features players can expect from the next entry in Rockstar’s iconic series. However, it may also signal potential performance considerations, such as frame rate limitations on base consoles due to the graphical intensity of advanced ray tracing technologies.

Currently, Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition is exclusively available on PC, providing enthusiasts the opportunity to experience Los Santos like never before with cutting-edge visuals, improved performance, and increased realism.
