GTA VI PC Version Could Arrive Early 2026, Hinted by Corsair CEO
With Grand Theft Auto VI being the most anticipated game of 2025, many fans have been wondering when the PC version will arrive. Traditionally, Rockstar Games has staggered PC releases, often delaying them by several months or even years after their console counterparts. However, recent comments from Corsair Gaming CEO Andrew Paul suggest that PC players might not have to wait as long as they did for GTA V.
During Corsair’s Q4 2024 earnings report, Paul discussed upcoming trends in gaming hardware demand. While mentioning GTA VI, he hinted that the PC version might arrive in early 2026, significantly earlier than some had speculated.
GTA VI’s Expected Release Timeline
Currently, Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA VI will launch in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. However, PC players are used to waiting, as seen with previous Rockstar titles:
GTA V launched on PS3/Xbox 360 in September 2013, but PC players had to wait until April 2015—a 19-month delay.
GTA IV had a much shorter gap, launching on April 29, 2008, for consoles, and arriving just seven months later on PC (December 2, 2008).
Given this history, an early 2026 release for GTA VI on PC would represent a relatively short delay compared to past Rockstar launches.
Corsair CEO’s Comments on PC Gaming Demand & GTA VI
Paul’s comments during the Corsair earnings call highlight the growing importance of major blockbuster games in driving PC hardware sales. He acknowledged that the gaming industry has been lacking a major “Fortnite moment” or “PUBG moment” over the past two years—referring to games that push massive player engagement and hardware upgrades.
In his discussion, Paul mentioned:
"GTA VI is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we'll get a glimpse of that, I think, later in the year for console. My understanding now is it's going to come out in the fall for console and then early '26 for PC."
While this statement does not confirm an official release date, it’s possible that industry executives like Paul have insight into Rockstar’s internal targets.
A Realistic Release Window?
It's important to remember that Rockstar Games is known for delays. GTA V was delayed once, and Red Dead Redemption 2 was delayed twice before release. While GTA VI is scheduled for Fall 2025, there's always a possibility of pushbacks.
However, given that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has emphasized the importance of PC sales for the franchise, it would make sense for Rockstar to aim for an early 2026 PC launch—a six-month gap instead of the traditional one-to-two-year delay.
If Corsair’s CEO is correct, GTA VI’s PC release might arrive much sooner than expected, allowing PC players to jump into Rockstar’s next open-world epic without an agonizing wait.
Would a six-month gap for GTA VI’s PC launch be reasonable, or are you expecting a longer delay like in previous Rockstar titles? Let us know in the comments!
