MSI Silently Raises Prices for GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPUs – Now Starting at $819

MSI has quietly adjusted its pricing for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti lineup, marking a noticeable increase in the MSRPs for NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell-based GPUs. Once launched at $749 for the Founders Edition and base models from most vendors, MSI’s own offerings now start at $819.99 for its base model, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X—$70 above the initial price point.

This silent price hike is part of a broader trend among NVIDIA’s AIB partners who are capitalizing on a perceived scarcity in the RTX 50 series market. Despite the GPUs not yet being widely available, custom editions are already being listed at premium prices. MSI’s custom RTX 5070 Ti editions now range from around $819 for the base Shadow 3X model to nearly $1,000 for top-tier models like the RTX 5070 Ti 16G Vanguard SOC Launch edition.

The lineup is segmented as follows:

  • Base Model: The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X now retails at $819.99. For those seeking a slight performance edge, the RTX 5070 Ti 16G Shadow 3X OC is available for an additional $20.

  • Mid-Range Options: MSI’s Ventus 3X OC starts at $899, offering enhanced cooling and higher clock speeds.

  • Premium Custom Editions: Cards such as the RTX 5070 Ti 16G Inspire 3X OC Plus, Gaming Trio OC Plus, and the Vanguard SOC models are priced between $929 and $999.

These price increments come at a time when the semiconductor and gaming markets are experiencing heightened volatility. NVIDIA is reportedly orchestrating a controlled scarcity of its new Blackwell GPUs, while AIB partners like MSI are positioning their premium custom editions to capture maximum value from early adopters.

This strategy is particularly notable given the competitive landscape. With AMD poised to launch its Radeon RX 9070 XT—rumored to start at $599—there is increasing pressure on the market to balance performance with cost-effectiveness. Gamers and professionals alike are closely watching these developments, as they may well dictate the pricing norms and value propositions of future GPU generations.
