NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPUs Target Mainstream Gamers with 16 GB and 8 GB Variants
NVIDIA has unveiled plans for its upcoming GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPUs, the next addition to the lineup following the RTX 5070 series. Aimed squarely at mainstream gamers and priced around the $400–$500 US range, the new RTX 5060 Ti series will be offered in two variants: a 16 GB model launching in the second half of March and an 8 GB model arriving in the first half of April.
The RTX 5060 Ti will utilize the "PG152" board design, presumably featuring the GB206 GPU core. Both variants will retain a 128-bit memory bus interface—similar to the current RTX 4060 Ti—but will be equipped with the latest GDDR7 memory, running at frequencies up to 28 Gbps. This results in a total bandwidth of 448 GB/s, representing a 55% increase over the RTX 4060 Ti and a 65% improvement over the RTX 4060. These enhancements, along with NVIDIA’s advanced Blackwell memory compression techniques, are expected to help overcome the limitations of the narrower bus.
In terms of power, both RTX 5060 Ti models are rated at a TBP of 180W—20W higher than the 8 GB RTX 4060 Ti and 15W higher than its 16 GB counterpart. They will come with both 8-pin and 12V-2x6 power connectors. While pricing details remain under wraps, the RTX 5060 Ti is expected to fall within the same price range as the current RTX 4060 Ti series. The new GPUs will also face competition from AMD’s RDNA 4-based RX 9000 series, such as the RX 9060.
Due to supply chain challenges, the launch of various GPUs from NVIDIA has been delayed, but the RTX 5060 Ti series is set to make a strong entrance into the mainstream market.
