One-Netbook Unveils OneXPlayer G1: A Hybrid Gaming Handheld and Mini-Laptop

One-Netbook has teased its latest innovation in gaming devices, the OneXPlayer G1, a versatile hybrid that merges the functionality of a gaming handheld with the power of a mini-laptop. Designed with portability and high performance in mind, this device packs some impressive hardware and a sleek design, as showcased in the company's latest teaser.

Powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370

At the heart of the OneXPlayer G1 is AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU from the Strix Point lineup. Built on the Zen 5 architecture, this 12-core, 24-thread processor ensures smooth multitasking and gaming performance. Complemented by the RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 890M GPU, the G1 is capable of running modern games at medium to high settings with ease.

The performance numbers are promising: the OneXPlayer G1 scored an impressive 4159 points in Time Spy, outperforming the GTX 1650 by 16%.

Stunning Display and Innovative Design

The device features an 8.8-inch IPS display with a 2.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, offering sharp visuals and fluid gameplay. The hybrid design allows users to switch seamlessly between a gaming handheld mode and a mini-laptop mode, thanks to its detachable Bluetooth dual-mode keyboard. The keyboard and the joysticks are RGB-backlit, adding to its premium gaming aesthetic.

Players will appreciate the dedicated joysticks, face buttons, and D-pad, all ergonomically designed for a comfortable gaming experience. When the controller is hidden, the G1 functions as a compact laptop, complete with a virtual keyboard option.

Connectivity and Build

The OneXPlayer G1 offers robust connectivity options, including OCuLink, USB4, and additional peripheral ports. Weighing around 900 grams, it’s heavier than traditional handhelds but compensates with its dual functionality and larger form factor.

Price and Availability

While One-Netbook hasn’t disclosed pricing or release dates yet, speculation suggests the G1 could be priced upwards of $1,500, considering the cost of its sibling device, the OneXFly F1 Pro.

With its powerful hardware and innovative design, the OneXPlayer G1 promises to carve a niche for itself in the portable gaming market.

What do you think about this hybrid design? Would you use the OneXPlayer G1 as a gaming handheld, mini-laptop, or both? Let us know in the comments!
