Rise of the Ronin Launches on PC Next Month, Boasting 8K, 120 FPS, DLSS, FSR, and More
Team NINJA has confirmed that its formerly PlayStation 5-exclusive action RPG Rise of the Ronin will land on PC via Steam on March 11, just over a month from now. A newly released trailer showcases the game’s jump to PC and outlines various platform-specific enhancements—ranging from ultra-wide display compatibility and up to 8K resolution support to advanced upscaling features such as AMD FSR, NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS, and frame generation. Players can also expect ray tracing effects and 3D audio for a deeper sense of immersion, as well as the possibility of hitting 120 FPS on capable hardware.
The Steam Store page is now live, offering a detailed overview of the title and its system requirements. For those aiming for 1080p and around 30 FPS on lower settings (with upscaling enabled), the recommendation begins at an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 CPU paired with a GTX 1060 or RX 5500 XT. An SSD is mandatory for optimal performance, while 16 GB of RAM and multi-channel memory architecture are strongly advised for stability. According to the listing, poor SSD performance may affect gameplay, signaling the scope and speed of Rise of the Ronin’s open-world data streaming.
Players aiming for 1080p at 60 FPS (again upscaled) will require a slightly more powerful system, such as an Intel Core i5-10600K/AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and at least a GeForce RTX 2080 Super or Radeon RX 6700 XT. Higher-end NVMe SSDs are also recommended. Notably, the required 180 GB of available storage indicates the scale and graphical fidelity Team NINJA is shooting for in this 19th-century Japan setting.
Having launched on PS5 last year, Rise of the Ronin drew praise for its fluid combat system, historical spin on open-world exploration, and Team NINJA’s signature action mechanics. Now, with its forthcoming PC release, the studio looks poised to deliver an even more polished experience with advanced graphical settings, improved frame rates, and brand-new features for PC enthusiasts. As the launch date nears, fans can look forward to unraveling the game’s feudal-era storyline—infused with fantasy elements—on a much broader range of hardware than ever before.
