Silent Hill f Receives Haunting New Trailer, Detailed Gameplay, and PC Requirements Revealed

KONAMI has unveiled an eerie new trailer along with extensive details for Silent Hill f, the highly anticipated entry in its iconic horror franchise. The reveal took place during the latest Silent Hill Transmission developer livestream, marking a significant update since the game's initial announcement back in October 2022. Set against the haunting backdrop of 1960s Japan, Silent Hill f promises to deliver a uniquely chilling experience.

The story unfolds in Ebisugaoka, a remote mountain town engulfed in a mysterious and terrifying fog. Players step into the shoes of teenager Shimizu Hinako, whose ordinary life is shattered when an eerie mist envelops her hometown. As the fog transforms Ebisugaoka into a desolate nightmare, Hinako must confront her past, solve intricate puzzles, and battle horrific creatures. The game emphasizes psychological horror, forcing players into harrowing choices that blur the lines between beauty and madness.

A Stellar Development Team

Silent Hill f is being developed by NeoBards Entertainment, previously known for its work on titles such as Resident Evil: Resistance, Resident Evil Re:Verse, Marvel's Avengers, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Silent Hill f marks NeoBards' first major project as a lead developer, underscoring the studio's ambition to deliver a standout horror experience.

Renowned producer Motoi Okamoto, who successfully led the recent Silent Hill 2 remake, oversees the project. Joining him is acclaimed writer Ryukishi07, celebrated for his intricate storytelling in Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry. During the developer stream, Ryukishi07 passionately shared his vision for the game:

“To this day, I remember the feeling of my first encounter with the strangling and oppressive atmosphere of Silent Hill. It still deeply haunts me, and it still utterly fascinates me. It's an honor to find myself involved with a series I have so many memories with. I've poured all my efforts into this story, so much so that I don't think I would mind if it was the last thing I ever wrote.”

Adding further prestige to the title, legendary series composer Akira Yamaoka returns to craft music for the game’s Fog World, working alongside acclaimed composer Kensuke Inage (Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Tekken 8) who composes for the sinister Otherworld. Illustrations and creature designs are handled by renowned artist kera, known for his uniquely haunting visual style.
