Split Fiction Introduces Full Crossplay and Expanded Friend’s Pass, Launching March 6

Hazelight Studios has officially announced that their upcoming co-op adventure game, Split Fiction, will support crossplay across all platforms. This feature ensures that players can seamlessly team up with their friends regardless of the platform they are playing on, further enhancing accessibility for cooperative gameplay. Hazelight is known for its innovative Friend’s Pass system, which allows one player to invite another to join the game without requiring both to own a copy. This time, the system takes a step forward with the Friend’s Pass Trial. Unlike previous iterations, the Split Fiction trial allows two players to experience the game together even if neither of them owns it. By downloading and launching the Friend’s Pass version, both players can invite each other and play through the opening stages of the game. If they enjoy it, only one player needs to purchase the full version for them to continue the adventure together.

The full game is set to launch on March 6, 2025, at a price of $49.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app.

A Story That Blends Sci-Fi and Fantasy

Following the success of It Takes Two, which won multiple Game of the Year awards, Split Fiction presents another unique co-op experience. Players will control Mio and Zoe, two writers—one specializing in science fiction, the other in fantasy—who find themselves trapped within their own stories after being connected to a device that steals creative ideas. To escape with their memories intact, they must navigate between sci-fi and fantasy worlds, mastering various skills and overcoming challenges. Hazelight promises an "unexpected tale of friendship" that will blend these two genres in a fresh and exciting way.
