XCOM Announces New Action-Strategy Game ‘Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids’ – Steam Next Fest Demo Incoming

Julian Gollop, the renowned creator behind XCOM and Phoenix Point, has officially announced his latest project, Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids. Developed by Snapshot Games and published by Arc Games, this title merges real-time strategy with third-person action gameplay, offering a dynamic and accessible experience for both strategy enthusiasts and casual players.

The game will be playable for the first time during Steam Next Fest, allowing players to experience its unique hybrid gameplay, which combines direct hero control, large-scale battles, base-building, and resource management.

A New Approach to Action-Strategy Gaming

Set in a vibrant comic book-inspired universe, Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids puts players in control of Chip or Clawz, two heroes tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion. The game blends tactical combat with RTS-style unit management, offering a unique strategic challenge.

  • Hybrid Third-Person & RTS Gameplay – Players engage in direct combat while simultaneously managing their army and resources.

  • Base Building & Upgrades – Strategic resource management allows for base fortification and technological advancements.
