Tides of Annihilation Gets 11 Minutes of New Gameplay

Eclipse Glow Games has unveiled an extended 11-minute gameplay video for its upcoming action/adventure title Tides of Annihilation. Published on IGN’s YouTube channel, the video offers fans a closer look at a work-in-progress build that already shows immense promise. In the footage, players witness immersive exploration of a ruined, alternate version of London—brought to life following a surprise invasion from another realm—as well as intense combat sequences and a challenging boss fight against the game’s rendition of Mordred Pendragon.

In Tides of Annihilation, players assume the role of Gwendolyn, the last surviving inhabitant of a devastated London, who must navigate the perils of this transformed city while unlocking new powers. Throughout her journey, Gwendolyn can summon over ten legendary knights—choosing two at a time—whose unique abilities, inspired by Arthurian myth, allow players to craft diverse combat styles and intricate combos. These powers are not only essential for defeating the enormous knights roaming the wreckage but also enable players to scale these behemoths, effectively treating them as additional levels within the game.

The game’s narrative weaves together the stark decay of London with the mystical allure of Avalon, a realm where ancient magic and legendary creatures abound. As Gwendolyn battles to save her family, the city, and ultimately reality itself, the gameplay promises a blend of high-stakes action, non-linear storytelling, and rich, atmospheric world-building. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, Tides of Annihilation is set for release on PC and consoles, and the studio has already confirmed that the game will support PS5 Pro with ray tracing and a 60FPS mode. This extended gameplay showcase reinforces the exciting potential first glimpsed at Gamescom 2024 and detailed in previous reports.
