Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Set for October Release; Game Completed, Final Polishing Underway
Paradox Interactive has officially announced that the long-awaited RPG Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is scheduled to launch this October, with the game now in the final polishing stages. This announcement comes directly from Marco Behrmann, Executive Vice President of the World of Darkness IP and Executive Producer on Bloodlines 2, who detailed the current state of the game through an official video message.
According to Behrmann, significant developments have occurred since the last update, including deeper narrative elements, expanded character development, and an evolved role for the character Fabien. Over recent months, the development team has consistently provided fans with updates through Dev Diaries, exploring key game components such as factions like the Camarilla and the Anarchs, as well as enemy groups such as the Hunters.
In his official announcement video, Behrmann stated:
"The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you once it releases. Bloodlines 2 will release in October this year."
Additionally, PC Gamer became the first publication to experience a preview build of Bloodlines 2. Their impressions praised the game's engaging storytelling and powerful vampire abilities while noting that certain aspects, such as dialogue animations, still require further polish.
Furthermore, Creative Director Alex Skidmore shared intriguing details about the unique approach Bloodlines 2 takes to in-game romance, described as "romantic feeding." Instead of traditional RPG-style romantic relationships, vampires in the game will engage in intimate feeding sequences that are separate and distinct from the aggressive combat feeds.
Skidmore elaborated during the PC Gamer interview:
"Vampire romance isn't the same as human romance. We have something called romantic feeding. At certain points with specific vampires, players who have navigated interactions appropriately can experience these intimate, non-lethal feeds."
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X this October.
