Philips Launches Two New Sustainable Productivity Monitors With Environment-Friendly Features

Philips has announced two new additions to its 5000 series monitors, focusing on improved energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact without sacrificing advanced professional features. Dubbed the 24B2G5301 and 27B2G5601, these displays serve as the company’s latest initiative to provide both businesses and consumers with superior image quality and productivity tools while adhering to eco-friendly design principles.

A Step Forward in Eco-Friendly Hardware

Expanding on the trend of sustainable production, Philips uses EcoSmart materials for these monitors, with 85% of the components reportedly recyclable. The packaging also stays in line with that ethos: it is 100% recyclable, and FSC-certified, ensuring minimal environmental footprint when shipping the new displays. According to Ilkan Reyhanoglu, Product Manager EU at Philips, “Businesses and professionals are increasingly aware of the impact they have on the environment, and we are being asked for more solutions that can minimise this impact while simultaneously ensuring the best productivity available. We are proud to add a series to our portfolio that can help offices be more efficient, reduce power consumption, and still enjoy the best professional features available. Productivity shouldn’t come at the cost of the environment.”

24-Inch and 27-Inch Options

The 24B2G5301 arrives as a 24-inch monitor equipped with a 1080p IPS panel, boasting wide viewing angles of 178 degrees. Meanwhile, the 27B2G5601 increases the screen real estate to 27 inches at a sharper 1440p resolution, delivering vivid details suitable for creative and professional tasks. Both models maintain consistency in build quality and share the same set of eco-friendly credentials, underlining Philips’s commitment to sustainable product lines.

Eyes, Comfort, and Energy Efficiency

Both monitors feature TUV Rheinland Eyesafe RPF 40 certification, SoftBlue technology, and Flicker-Free support, all designed to alleviate the harmful effects of prolonged exposure to blue light. Additionally, the PowerSensor 2 function intelligently reduces power consumption by detecting user proximity, automatically dimming or entering power-saving modes when the user steps away. These measures address health, comfort, and eco-consciousness in a single unified approach.

Modern Connectivity & Productivity Tools

A built-in USB-C docking station headlines the connectivity suite, providing up to 100W power delivery for connected devices. This hub also features RJ-45 LAN for secure network access, as well as multiple USB Type-A and Type-C ports. Moreover, the monitors offer HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, broadening compatibility with a variety of desktops and laptops.

For multitasking, the Smart KVM switch allows users to switch between multiple input sources rapidly, and the MultiView feature enables side-by-side operation for those juggling different workflows simultaneously. A fully height-adjustable stand (up to 150 mm) plus pivot, swivel, and tilt options help users adapt each monitor to their preferred ergonomic setting.

    • USB-C docking with 100W power output and integrated RJ45 network port

    • PowerSensor 2 for automatic power-saving functionality

    • Smart KVM switch for quick device toggling

    • MultiView support for simultaneous multi-input display
